Vijariego Negro 2019
We grow our Vijariego Negro in a secluded area of El Palmar valley, in the north-west of Tenerife. At 700m above sea level, the weather is far cooler and less forgiving than at lower altitudes, ensuring a deep concentration in our grapes and retaining delicate aromas.
A saline, powerful wine with aromas of ripe blackcurrants, smoky and hints of toast from the 12 months it sees in barrel. The tannins are incredibly fine and the refreshing, salty acidity invokes the combination of an Atlantic climate and deep, volcanic soils. A perfect pairing with red meats and other rich, protein-heavy dishes.
