Viñátigo Gual 2020 in the selection of the best new Spanish wines by Chris Wilson for Decanter

Updated: Sep 14, 2021

Decanter magazine publishes under the title "Best Spanish wines: 18 new ones to try" an extensive report on a series of interesting alternatives that are taking place in Spanish wine, taking advantage of new winemaking techniques, rediscovering native grapes and reinventing traditional styles.

Its author, the journalist specialized in wines Chris Wilson, recommends a selection of classic bottles and a new wave of tastings that he has recently carried out, including our 2020 Viñátigo Gual in said selection.

We leave you the link to the original article and Chris's tasting notes about our #Gual.

Bodegas Viñátigo, Gual, Tenerife, Spain 2020

Tasting note by Chris Wilson (22 Jun 2021)

The wines from the islands of Spain are becoming more and more popular and with this rich multi-dimensional white from Tenerife you can see why. It's 100% Gual (better known as Bual) and it's buttery and textured. Fermented in steel and concrete egg, it displays a series of tropical characters, among them mango and guava, as well as straw, smoke and green tea. All harmonized with a perfect acidity.
